St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: A Lifeline of Hope for Sick Kids

This allows parents to focus solely on helping their child live, regardless of the cost or duration of care.
By 2030, St. Jude’s goal is to cure at least 60% of children with six of the most common types of cancer worldwide. The hospital doesn’t keep its discoveries a secret but shares them with the world, fostering a global community of medical progress. It draws its name from Saint Jude Thaddeus, the patron saint of hopeless causes. Since opening its doors in 1962, its mission has been crystal clear: finding cures for kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases, regardless of race, ethnicity, beliefs, or a family’s ability to pay.
It’s estimated that 89% of the funds necessary to sustain and grow St. Jude must be raised from donors. Its founder, Danny Thomas, believed that “no child should die in the dawn of life.” We couldn’t agree more, and that’s why we donate after serving the community through eco-friendly bathtub refinishing, bathtub repairs, and more.
Tunnel to Towers Foundation: Supporting Heroes
Fox Valley Bathtub Refinishing’s owner, a firefighter by profession, understands the sacrifices made by first responders, police officers, and soldiers. This profound connection has led to regular donations to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization dedicated to honoring the sacrifices of heroes. The Foundation’s mission traces back to firefighter Stephen Siller, who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation offers a range of programs, each with a unique purpose.
Smart Home Program
The Smart Home Program constructs mortgage-free smart homes tailored to the needs of severely injured veterans and first responders. These homes incorporate features like automated doors, wider hallways, and accessible showers, empowering these heroes to regain their day-to-day independence.
Fallen First Responder Home Program
Through the Fallen First Responder Home Program, the Foundation hopes to alleviate the financial burden of families who lose their loved ones in the line of duty or to 9/11-related illnesses. By paying off their mortgages, the Foundation provides stability and security during times of sudden, tragic loss.
Gold Star Family Home Program
The Gold Star Family Home Program, initiated in September 2018, honors the legacy of those who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Surviving spouses with young children receive mortgage-free homes, giving them comfort and security in the face of heart-wrenching loss. The Foundation offers even more services, which have made a lasting impact on families of military and first responders.
