Our Refinishing Process
At Fox Valley, we don’t paint over your tub. Instead, we use a careful chemical process to change the surface of your fixture.
• Acid Etching
First, we acid etch porcelain and enamel surfaces to create tiny pores in the surface that will help bond the primers to the topcoat. We are careful to use proper ventilation, gloves, and masking, to keep your family safe during this process. Then we neutralize, dilute, and flush the acid away. As with all of our products, our use of HF (hydrofluoric) acid is safe for your family, your plumbing, and the environment.
• Triple Adhesion System
Next, we use silane and epoxy to create the best primer system in the industry. We apply silane directly to your bathtub to provide a secure chemical bond. Then we apply an epoxy coating to provide a glossy, durable finish.
Glas-Tech 9000
Glas-Tech 9000 is our company’s epoxy coating of choice because it’s the best coating available to the refinishing industry. Glas-Tech 9000 is high-gloss, 100% resistant to UV rays, cures quickly, and is available in 1200 colors. Additionally, this product is incredibly durable and long-lasting because of its high crosslink density. Plus, as the formula cures, the pigment settles to the bottom of the film and a clear, resin-rich top layer forms on top; this offers extra protection from moisture, impact, stains, and solvents.
Eco-Friendly
Another benefit of our triple adhesion process is that it is eco-friendly. All of our coatings are in compliance with the strictest EPA standards for VOCs in the country.
